A warm welcome to Whitby

Abbey and Esk is a tall Victorian house set in a picturesque terrace above the River Esk. Once called “Captains' Walk” because so many sea captains lived here. Esk Terrace is only 5 minutes level walk from the town centre yet is a haven of peace and quiet with so much to look at, birds, boats and beautiful old steam trains!

We have 2 double en-suite rooms and there is also a twin room for children or for larger parties which has a private jaccuzzi bathroom on the floor below.

We have free parking for two cars and we offer our guests free WIFI.

About Whitby

Whitby's many attractions are within easy reach of our B & B; families will find beautiful Blue Flag beaches, wonderful country villages and many delightful walks on the cliffs and North Yorkshire moors. Fishing, fossil hunting, cycling and sailing are all available in the area and there is fascinating history to be discovered. Whitby's Abbey is world famous as is its connection with Captain Cook.

Festivals are held regularly and the Folk festival, Regatta, Music Festival and Goth weekends bring lots of colour to the town.We will be delighted to point out 'Heartbeat' locations to our guests. Steam trains pass regularly in front of the terrace and it is possible to take excursions from the town.
